Global Mapping of Faith-Inspired Organizations and Development

The Berkley Center, in conjunction with the World Faiths Development Dialogue (WFDD), is undertaking a global mapping exercise to capture the activities of faith-inspired organizations across world regions. Through a series of background reports, in-depth interviews with practitioners, and international symposia, the Faith-Inspired Organizations and Development project charts organizations anchored in particular faith traditions or with ecumenical or interfaith approaches that are engaged in global development agendas, including poverty relief, education, and the struggle against HIV/AIDs and malaria. Project reviews to date have focused on the United States, the Muslim World, Europe and Africa, and Central and South America. Preparatory work for a review of faith-inspired organizations in Asia has begun. The aim is to continue the “mapping” work and exploration of various policy dimensions.
